Calabasas California - A Few Facts

Calabasas is a city inside the Los Angeles county, California. Calabasas actually means “pumpkin”.

Calabasas, California has a population of 23,123, according to the census held in 2000. In 2008, a new civic center was completed, a complex which cost an estimated 45 million dollars.

In February 2006, a secondhand smoking ordinance was created, which prohibits smoking in public areas, like indoor and outdoor businesses, parks, restaurants, apartment areas, bars, hotels in Calabasas, etc.

There is also a technology center in town, which emerged during the dot com bubble. The town also features a big Hindu temple.
