Wimbledon is probably the most famous tennis tournament in the world, as it is the oldest. Dating back from 1877, it is one of the 4 grand slams and the last important tennis tournament on grass.

The most important events in the tournament are gentlemen’s singles, ladies’ singles, gentlemen’s doubles, ladies’ doubles and mixed doubles. There are also tournaments for juniors.

There is no doubt about the fact that Wimbledon 2009 will be a fascinating event. With Roger Federer seeking revenge for the title he lost last year to Rafael Nadal, it will be something worth watching. Wimbledon 2009 starts on June 22nd and ends on July 5th.
